Couple our friendly team’s hard work, with flair and fantastic local produce and you have a unique family owned restaurant that is always prepared to experiment and push boundaries. We are not part of a large group with central buying and dull menus. We have promoted all of excellent our management team from within. Foxtons is lucky to employ entirely local staff and we are proud of the results. They will be happy to answer any questions you might have – do have a chat!

More than 11 years ago 2012, we took over a struggling wine bar with a vision to provide a quality destination for local people and our many visitors alike. Despite the huge problems created by Covid lockdowns we have stuck together. Now, our team is hugely proud of our food, our service and the atmosphere that a happy workplace generates. Do come and enjoy a relaxing time with us.

The other super heroes are called our brilliant suppliers. We are hugely grateful to our band of local suppliers. Did you know that some of our local suppliers deliver 6 or 7 days per week? As a very small outlet, with quite a big range of menus we don’t have much storage space. So we are lucky to have such amazing food and drinks delivered so regularly. We raise a toast to our hard working suppliers who keep top quality produce on your table.

With over 40 wines to choose from, you can be sure of a great choice at Foxtons. Our list covers fizz, a short list of champagnes, rosés, crisp whites and mellow smooth reds.

Try our rich and powerful Amarone (£45)for a special dinner, or Marlborough Sauvignon good value at around £30. Our house wines are a very special deal at around 16 quid a bottle and offer a great way to relax after work. Why not ask for some olives or nachos to match?

Usually spending a just a little more on your wine in a restaurant will get you far more wine quality. For example, our organic Cote De Rhone is exceptional value and matches our Sunday roasts with aplomb.

Trying our fantastic seafood platters or the Seafood tower, then we recommend our Alvarinho from Portugal, crisp fresh Chablis or sublime Gavi.

Choose from our main menu which is served all day from lunch to dinner Monday to Saturday. Special Sunday Lunches too!

No “ping and ding of the pre prepared microwaved to heat” mass produced food here!

Every day we receive the most amazing seafood from Ross Dougal of Eyemouth. Mussels, clams, haddock, oysters, prawns, langoustines, smoked salmon, lemons ole and more. This is the best quality the north sea and the Atlantic can offer. Cooked lovingly, served with a friendly smile. Seafood “as good as it gets” said one happy couple who came 3 times to Foxtons on their holiday.

Geds Butchers in Castlegate Berwick sources locally grown beef, lamb, pork and chicken and delivers it 6 days per week. Sunday lunches to the best fillets, succulent burgers locally themed, moist chicken dishes to tasty belly pork. Our truly sympathetic cooking aims to match the provenance of quality of our beautiful Northumberland and Scottish Borders products.

“As good as our last visit 5 years ago! We were so pleased to stumble upon Foxtons again albeit five years later. We were greeted by a friendly and efficient lady. Order was taken speedily and with a smile. We both had the fish and chips which was really great and very good value for money. The batter was tasty and crispy, the chips really nice and the minted mushy peas excellent, neither of us are fans of mushy peas normally but these were delicious. We would highly recommend eating here and they even have a dog friendly area which we were pleased about. When paying the bill the chap behind the bar was very polite and friendly too which made the whole experience an absolute pleasure. If we come to Berwick again Foxtons will be our first stop,”

FAQ’s

Can you provide buffets or party menus for events in Foxtons?

Yes, we have catered for weddings, christenings, birthdays, funerals, retirement parties, hen-do’s, golf parties and business meetings to name a few. Just get in touch with our team to discuss your plans and leave the event in our capable hands.

Does Foxtons have 5 star ratings for food hygiene and safety?

Yes, we have held 5 stars for many years by ensuring the cleanest possible working kitchens. We have installed state of the art fridge and freezers monitors that alert by a phone app when temperatures rise in our stores. Food is delivered fresh daily. All different food products are prepared in safe colour coded segregated ways. Food allergens are separately prepared.

Do you allow dogs in Foxtons?

As we all love dogs yes we do, but in our front area only when eating.

Do we have to book a table?

No, but we strongly recommend that you do book in advance on the form BOOK NOW above, or 01289 303939. Weekends are especially busy so do book ahead!

We have a guest with a mild peanut allergy, can you cater for this?

We have scrupulously clean kitchens with all food kept separately, but no one can guarantee 100% that contamination will not occur.
